Camp and after school groups are critically needed for all kids. They need the social opportunities and the chance to engage with all kinds of peers – with and without disabilities. They need to be out and about and not at home, alone with the TV or just a parent or babysitter for company. The right social setting means improved social skills and self-esteem – imagine what a strong, supported kid and teen can do for their futures if they feel that we believe in them.
