Shutaf’s Year-round Activities
Shutaf provides a variety of year-round answers for children and teens. One-week camps are held during Hanukah and Pesach vacations as well as a three-week camp in August, serving campers ages 6-13, younger teens, ages13-16 and older teens, ages 16-21. Shutaf’s after-school youth groups offer continued learning, growing and friendship-building opportunities for kids and young teens. Young teens will also focus on self-identity, empowerment, social and independent living skills through carefully chosen group activities. Shutaf’s Junior Counselor Training, part of our greater Teen Young Leadership Program provides teens – with and without special needs – vocational skills and ongoing work experience in a supportive environment of self-exploration, identity and self-advocacy, helping them become empathic members of an inclusive society. Shutaf also hosts parent support groups and family gatherings during the course of the year as part of strengthening and educating the Shutaf community.
